MCAS New River Trail features 4 miles of hiking trails near Jacksonville, NC. <br />
This trail has short, but steep climbs all along the path as it meanders under the cool forest canopy. Get out and stretch your legs on this short, but beautiful hike. Make sure to watch out for mountain bike traffic as well!
After getting a visitors pass from the front gate of the air station, take 17 south. Take your Second left onto a dirt road. Go through the first crossroads, and the parking area is about 1/4 mile on your right. The trail is across the road from the covered bleachers.
